General Information

CLASP Children’s Center (“Children’s Living, Learning, Loving After School Program”) has provided Great Neck’s working parents and parents enrolled in training programs with quality childcare for over 45 years. It was started in the 1960’s by a group of working parents and became incorporated in 1975. CLASP has since evolved into a highly regarded childcare program.

CLASP operates keeping the needs of working families in mind. Year-round care is provided to infant, toddlers, and preschool children. Accommodations may be made for those children with special needs that require additional services on-site at the Center.

CLASP hours of operation are 7:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Childcare is available for children ages 12 weeks to 5 years. Meals and snacks are provided under New York State Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) guidelines.

CLASP is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). The Center also contracts with the Nassau County Department of Social Services (DSS) for income eligible families. Additional funding sources are provided through various local, state and federal organizations, as well as grants and private donations. Childcare is available to all families who live or work in the Great Neck community regardless of race, color, sex or national origin.
